An Easter Egg EngagementOn the brilliantly sunny Saturday afternoon of Easter Weekend, Bill had set up a romantic picnic for Christine at Cliff Drive Park, overlooking Newport Bay and the glittering Pacific. When they arrived, a blanket and basket greeted them on the lawn, and an egg hunt awaited Christine.
She finally found and opened all six eggs (quite difficult with Bill's precise egg-to-flora matching skills), and saw that each of them contained a special memory keepsake (the movie stub from their first date, a beer bottle cap, a tiny soccer ball, etc.) along with her favorite candy Cadbury Cream Eggs, and six even sweeter love notes, each stating different reasons why Bill loved Christine. Her prize for finding them all was a secret seventh egg (hidden in the cooler), which asked her to state the importance of each object found. Christine aced Bill's mini-quiz and was rewarded with a wooden box that he pulled from his pocket. After a beautiful speech, Bill got down on one knee and asked the question. There was no hesitation, only happy leaking eyes and an instant answer: Yes! The lovebirds spent the next couple hours enjoying the lunch Bill had made, Vanilla Cream Sodas and Blue Moons he had smuggled in the cooler, the beautiful weather, and each other's company. The memory of that wonderful Saturday afternoon was documented by Christine; she took most of the shots after the actual proposal, staging it back how it was rather than in mid-hunt. |
